Beginning in 1984 as a Project Superintendent in Florida, he expanded his role to take on varying management positions until becoming Vice President of Construction for Blythe in 2005. Mr. Cahill became President and CEO of Blythe Construction in 2010 and then assumed the role of President and CEO of the Hubbard Group in 2013, and undertook securing the company’s reputation as the premier heavy civil contractor of the Southeast. Under his leadership, Blythe and Hubbard expanded their operations continuously throughout the 2000s, while forming a culture of operational excellence and safety first which today forms the heart of our organization. In 2018, Mr. Cahill had a key role in the acquisition and integration of Lane Construction’s Plants & Paving operations, creating what is now Eurovia USA. As President and CEO of the US operations, Mr. Cahill heads a network of more than 3,500 employees operating across the entire East Coast of the United States.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering from the University of Maine in 1991, he was hired as an instrument man and crew chief on the Pennsylvania Southern Expressway Project in Pittsburgh. Rod relocated to Maine, where he became involved in the asphalt plant and quarry operations throughout the state. Rod was responsible for all survey layout, permitting, cost control, and estimating. Rod then served as a Superintendent on numerous Maine DOT projects across several locations, primarily Belfast, Washington, Calais, and Bangor ME. Additionally, Rod led IRAP projects in Winterport and Stockton Springs, as well as several Aggregate acquisitions across Maine. Since 2002, he has held management positions of increasing levels of responsibility, and has expanded his area of business to include the entire Northeast region. In 2016, Rodney was promoted to Senior Vice President of what was then Lane Construction’s Plants & Paving operations from Maine to Texas. He became Senior Vice President of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, following the 2018 acquisition by Eurovia USA. An active member of numerous industry organizations, Rodney has served as President of the Maine Better Transportation Association, the Maine Asphalt Producers Association, and served AGC of Maine on boards and committees, and is currently a board member of the National Asphalt Pavement Association.
Throughout the 39 years since, he has held positions related to nearly every aspect of construction operations, with a focus on business and construction management. Prior to joining Virginia Paving Company as a District Manager in 2009, he helped to improve the performance and profitability of several other construction companies through his work in varying management positions. He is experienced in managing both public and private projects, with a resume that includes work in numerous states along the East Coast and throughout the southern US. Under Mike’s leadership, Virginia Paving Company has positioned itself as a recognized industry leader in Safety, Quality, Production and Performance. He has also deepened the company’s public reputation through Environmental Stewardship, and ongoing Community Service programs developed by the company. Following the 2018 merger with Eurovia USA, Mike now oversees plant and paving operations as Vice President of Virginia, South Carolina, and Texas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology.
In 1982, John relocated to San Antonio where he established and operated a central mix concrete batch plant for the newly created Texas division of Lane Construction. Soon after, in 1984, he transitioned from concrete to asphalt paving by taking the position of Plant Foreman. John played an integral role in constructing and operating Sunmount Paving’s primary asphalt plant in Justin, Texas. In the years since, John has held operational positions of increasing levels of responsibility in both the lab and the field, including Lab Manager, Asphalt Paving Superintendent, Project Manager, Plant Manager, and his current position as District Manager. One of the industry’s leading experts in racetrack paving, John has managed the reconstruction and paving of seven NASCAR tracks, including the iconic Texas Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway.
She began her career in Human Resources Management, where she oversaw employee relations and a variety of staffing issues including mediating disputes, directing disciplinary procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The skills and experiences acquired in HR helped Debby to transition into operational roles of increasing responsibility, starting as a Contract Administrator, Estimator, Assistant Job Engineer, Engineer, Assistant Plant Manager, and her current role position as Area Manager. Today, Debby assists in the management of plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, maintenance, and for the environmentally-sound production of a quality product. A firm believer and witness to the value of professional development, she has facilitated the growth and advancement of numerous superintendents, foremen, and job engineers. Debby strives to ensure that customer expectations are met by providing quality products in a cost effective, efficient, and safe manner.
Throughout the years following, he continued to gain estimating experience throughout the Midwest and Southwest United States until he settled in Justin, Texas in 2006. He has since advanced his career by excelling in estimating and superintendent roles for numerous high-profile projects in the state. Among them are the DFW Airport rehabilitation project, the Naval Air Station runway repaving project in Ft. Worth, the I-35E Express JV project, and dozens of others. In 2017, Steve took the position of Senior Estimator in Justin, Texas, and in 2019 he became Project Manager for Sunmount Paving Company. Today, Steve oversees operations for the company’s public and private projects while continuing to lead the direction of the company through the pursuit of future projects and opportunities.
